    SWB to LWB

    Good evening all. First time poster about somthing I have not been able to find a clear cut answer to. I recently inherited a 66 911 that my father and I put a SBC into in 20 plus years ago. When he purchased the car it already had body panels off of a 72 (so he was told). Now when you look at the side of the car the rear tires do not sit square in the rear fenders. Now I know in 66 it was a SWB, and in 72 it was a LWB. So what I want to know is if I can bolt on LWB rear trailing arms to correct my problem. And if so what all I will need to do. Thank you

    I really like seeing photo of the difference in the swb vs lwb.
    Hope you find the fix.

    I think you will also need lwb axles and cvs. Spring plates? Sure others will add to the list.

    I dont have any good pics of that at the moment. I am out out town away from the car. I do have a couple more of the bottom tho.

    I really like the later modle wider look. And in the future I may change it again but for the time being I want to to leave the body alone.

    Bolting LWB trailing arms to a SWB requires replacing the mounting brackets on the torsion bar tube. Not an insurmountable task but more than just bolting parts on.
