    912 transmission option codes

Hey all. Hoping to get some insight into what the differences were in the 912 transmissions.

I've recently acquired a Kardex for this 1969 912. The transmission code wasn't on the list of common transmission options. The option code is 9032 on the Kardex. The common options list that came with the Kardex show a 9031 (902/14), 9033 (902/60), and 9034 (902/16). My transmission number is a 902/05.

I'd love to know what the differences in models are. I suspect gear ratios.

Did you inquire on the 912BBS.org also?

I'll pick up a 902/16 tomorrow. It will be configured B, GA, O (M?N?), U, Z 7:31 and a Wavetrac. Getting 3rd right for runs from 8 to 12,500 feet is important as I spend a lot of time in that gear up there.
My current trans is geared C, GA, O, V, ZD 7:31 Wavetrac. 1st, 4th, and 5th are a bit too tall over the passes. I'll reinstall it for low altitude runs to California or back east.

Hey Chris. Thanks for the information and yes I did post on the 912 registry. I will share any findings of information here too.
