Good to know it arrived in Australia, should see it soon.

    John,

    Thank you!
The SWB 911/912 (1964-1968) Turn Signal & Taillight Renovation Kit was packed very well and arrived undamaged (the box had some stories to tell).
What an excellent kit, looking forward to this project down the track.

"The package went through USPS at the end of November, arrived in Germany, was sent for delivery, lazy German postal worker did not ask anyone home and, after a failed delivery attempt, sent the package back to the USA, where it was immediately lost during transport. USPS relied on German Post to deliver, and they failed miserably."

@ karlusmagnus: sorry, but i can't imagine the process. it is actually the case (with DHL) that if the delivery attempt fails, a message is left in the mailbox. the parcel is then stored for at least a week at the local post office for collection and not sent back immediately. of course, if the package is not picked up, it goes back to the sender. but then your brother didn't pick it up. Of course, you can always overlook a notification like this, but german Post is already doing its job right. It is therefore always advisable to keep an eye on the shipping route when you are expecting a package to check the tracking number. I only know dhl as very reliable. regards

@uwe if it is held at german customs it may be worse. You get a letter that it is held for 1 week (7 days) and the letter arrives at day 3 - so you have 4 days or might be worse two days if there's a weekend and their opening hours are bad and they're 60 kilometers away...

USPS has gone to shit in the last few years. They used to be super reliable in the past

Personally I’d go with DHL now for shipments to Europe

Alternatively partner up with a shipping co in Europe that can hold stock for you and drop ship from there

Uwe, my issue was with German Post, not DHL. I have used DHL, happy with their service, and not had an issue.

My experience was that I sent 2 packages (equal size/contents) from same address in US, a business in Maine, to Europe end Nov 2019. One went from Maine to Ireland, from USPS to Irish Post. Delivered in 9 days. The other went from Maine to Munich, from USPS to German Post. Per tracking info, one attempted delivery on 12/11/19. No note left in mailbox, my brother went to local post office to track it down on 12/12/19, and they could not locate it. A week later (12/21/19) tracking info said it was being returned to sender. Arrived back in Maine, in US, 2/20/20.

My experience with German Post was not a good one. YMMV.
