In the past 10 days, my experience

Two packages sent by Canada Post to the Netherlands and Germany. Regular small packet air. Stated delivery time 12 days. Both arrived in 4 days. Cost C$13 each in shipping.
Package received from New Hampshire by USPS/Canada Post. Stated delivery time 1 month. Arrived in 5 days. Cost US$16 in shipping.

No duties or processing charges on any of it.

UPS parcel received from Louisiana containing some Baldwin door lock hardware. 3 day delivery ground shipment that cost US$168 to ship. No duty. UPS processing charge C$35. Plus tax. Yep, UPS are effing pirates. Would have used Fed Ex but the company was too lazy to call for a pickup.

Amazing. A pair of our top end LED headlights that I shipped to a customer in Luxembourg never showed up and I ended up sending him a second set. Well, the first set that I sent him was just delivered to me. I had shipped them on October 15, 2020. The box had never been opened and they are in perfect condition.

It's unfortunate that you had to pay an extra fee to UPS, but at least it got to you quickly. That's why it's important to always check different shipping companies and compare their prices and delivery times. I'm glad that everything worked out in the end! The last time I had to send something, I used a European company that delivered all the stuff from my shop with freight to Austria. I was delighted with their customer service, and it was the first time that something I sent arrived on time.
