Thread: What do you know about this picture?

The reason i'm so particularly interested, along with the fact it is just a cool picture. i thought that from 1968 the 911 were fitting CN36.

    https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/pir...rato-cn36.html

I would have thought 912 were fitting CN36 too.

i know that before the CN36 came out in 68 the CA67 that is on this car is one of the options on an earlier 911, but this kind of makes me think they may have continued to fit CA67 after 68.

But of course what is probably the case is that the tyres on that car are a replacement set and the CN36 were probably just more expensive.

I'm kind of thinking they are 165 not 185/70 so does that make it a 912?

Incidentally i have a new batch of these 165HR15 CA67 on there way to me i hope to have them in March.

On a different forum someone has posted this:

"That is Linda Gray with a 1966 Porsche 912. She was about 25 years old then, she's 80 now. Interestingly, in the early 2000's she play Mrs. Robinson from The Graduate when they did the stage version in London. But she is better known as Sue Ellen Ewing, J.R. Ewing's wife in the tv show Dallas.

    Car ain't bad either~ "

    Could it be a 1966 912?

It could if the car had all the post '66 bits swapped to it. I would highly doubt it is a '66. Might be a '69 912?

the 912 '68 MY drivers manual says 165 HR 15 and I can't see any reason it would be different for a 912 in MY 1969

That's very likely my car, which is a 69 911T. The COA says Pirelli 165 VR 15. I have the original maintenance record which has her husband's name on it as the owner. There's another picture of it online with him in front of it, in period. I think you can see the chrome wheels in this picture, if you look closely.
