'. . . was completed at Porsche’s Zuffenhausen factory in February 1973 as a Touring model finished in Grand Prix White with red contrasting wheels and Carrera script stripes. It was delivered new in Switzerland to Ronald Kistler, a motoring enthusiast who entered the car in local competitions for the next eight and a half years. It was acquired by Arno Flach in July of 1981 who continued to race the car and eventually earn a first-place finish at the 1982 Automobil-Slalom Altenrhein. Later in April of 1987, this Carrera RS was purchased by Jim Albett who registered the car in the United Kingdom and raced extensively for the next two years with events including the Gordon Russell Intermarque Championship, the 750 MC Racing Championship the Pirelli Autofarm Modified Porsche Championship, and the Pirelli Porsche Club GB Championship. After September 1991, it was sold by Dick Lovett Limited to Simon White of Cheltenham who commenced an extensive restoration before the car was featured on the cover of Classic Cars magazine in May 2006. White eventually sold the car to Timothy Underwood, a local friend, in November 2006 who sold the car to Antony Lucas of Bristol the following year. Lucas had a major mechanical service completed by Autofarm in Weston-on-the-Green before entering to race in the Porsche in the Pomeroy Trophy in February of 2008. Following a season of racing, the car was treated to a mechanical overhaul at BS Motorsports in Westcott which was completed in 2010. Lucas enjoyed the Carrera RS as a touring car for the next several years before it joined the collection of a U.S.-based owner in 2017. Having since undergone a complete restoration by the experts at Canepa, this legendary 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York . . .
. . . the Carrera RS used thinner gauge steel body panels than a contemporary 911S as well as thinner safety glass for the windows. It features rear fenders flared by 50mm to accommodate wider 15” x 7” Fuchs alloy wheels as well as glass-reinforced plastic bumpers and a distinctive ducktail rear spoiler. This example is finished in Grand Prix White (908) with contrasting red-painted wheel centers and Carrera script side stripes inspired by the Carrera logo from the original Porsche 356 four-cam. The car was subject to a full restoration at Canepa and is said to remain in very good overall condition apart from a small paint crack on the rear decklid below the ducktail spoiler . . .
. . . features a pair of black leather sport seats with matching corduroy inserts, a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel, and Lightweight-spec door panels. As a Touring version, it comes equipped with power windows and rear seats. All gauges and accessories are said to remain fully functional
