    385/1 Trans Tool Parts

Does anyone have or made a replacement, in plastic or metal, for the cam that breaks inside the mandrel bar for VW385 pinion depth tool? Gordon

I believe I have a part number for this plastic cam. Should be VW385/1-3. I've been in contact with snap on tools trying to source a replacement. Snap on tools is the company who sells these tools to dealerships. I found this out from my local Porsche parts guy. Snap on sent me a list of parts available. Of course this wasn't on the list. I more or less insisted and begged that they contact the manufacture of 385 tool. Supposedly the snap on rep is looking into it. Not holding my breath. In the meantime I have someone trying to replicate one from the broken cam I have. Hoping to have an answer later today or tomorrow. Again not holding my breath.

Were you ever able to find a source for this plastic cam?
