Personally, I appreciate this line of thinking.

But you should do what makes you happy. Enjoy!

I guess I tend toward people should do with their cars as they wish, and what will make them happy. I wouldn't be able to bring myself to color-change a highly original and/or presentable car. But once it's non-original, it's a big tent—and tasteful color changes fall under it for me.

Looking at your list, my only thought would be to go backwards rather than forwards. The longer I've looked at earlier Porsches, the more I find that period or earlier than period colors look right to these eyes where later colors rarely do—because period or earlier Porsche colors could have been ordered when a 1967 S was new. That's just this peanut's take, but there's a stunning SWB hot rod in 356 orange out there (well known to R Gruppe and ESR adherents), and I think about Bali and Aga too. Polo is one of Porsche's all-time great reds, and never gets old on a SWB 911S. Ditto for Slate Gray and Irish Green. Purples and metallics other than silver or gray would give me pause on a 67S, but this is your car. Enjoy it!
