    Scheel seat police

A Forum member has 2 seats in his 69 and is seeking (as I am too ) some advice and knowledge from the wise amongst us. (permission granted to post his pictures)
The drivers seat appears to be a 300 but the passenger seat appears very deep in the bucket and Hi on the bolster. Both appear to have Scheel fabric and both are of fibreglass construction.
    Pic's below.

Shape of the passenger seat almost looks like the minimalist passenger seat seen in a couple of the 911Rs for racing. Same goes for the console it's mounted on. Of course those weren't typically upholstered. Driver is a Scheel 300 as you stated. and looks to be original.. The fiberglass on mine is very AMBER. Can't tell from your pic.

Passenger doesn‘t look scheel to me. Perhaps Meyer Schalensitze from Stuttgart.

back in the 60s there were a few small companies in germany that produced raw shells for rally drivers. these could then be obtained with cord / letherette according to the taste of the buyer. sometimes they were simply left raw and installed as a makeshift seat on the passenger side. I am quite sure that it is such a seat production.Since the seat cover has been adapted to the Scheel look, everything can of course be hidden underneath - from the original 911R raw shell (seat bracket indicates this as already mentioned)to the modern replica. i attached two pictures from my collection - also from the 60s - with a slightly different shape. the driver's seat is clearly a scheel. Whether a replica or an original can only be seen on the underside - an overall picture of underside both seats would be interesting here in the expanded state. the color of the fiberglass makes it easy to see whether it is old or repro. regards
