    Taillight Change

I'm trying to determine when the drain hole in the taillight housings was moved in LWB housings from aft to more of a forward position:

Change from F Series to G series maybe? Has anyone ever had a misfit and just gone ahead and drilled another hole?

    Thanks,
    John

That's what I've always assumed, John. I thought the change was for clearance for the collapsing bumper.

Yeah, I did that. My '72 had one of each style, as the left had been replaced at some point due to accident damage. I used a step drill for a nice round hole, and used aluminum sealing tape on both top and bottom to seal the wrong hole. Not permanent, but effective so far.
