    10mm Allen wrench question

Just wondering...is the main purpose of including a 10mm Allen wrench in our tool kit for turning the spark plug wrench or is there another use for it someplace?

I believe that on swb cars a 10 mm allen is used for oil change with the original allen head drain plugs. Most cars probably have been changed to hex head by now.

That’s what I also thought, Jim. My 73 has no plug in the sump plate. Just several small hex bolts around the perimeter.

Thanks Ed. So then the main uses of the 10mm Allen wrench are for the spark plug socket and the oil sump plug. I’m putting together a tool kit for road trips that I would actually use which is what prompted my question. In all these years, I never really considered what that 10mm Allen was for.
