    Ground wires attachment point

Car is a 1969 911S. There are three brown ground wires in the engine compartment near the CDI Box. I realize ground wires can be connected to any good grounding point but what is the correct factory mounting point for these three wires?

    Many thanks as always,

They all attach to the 8mm ground stud.

Thank you Ed, Fredrik and Richy!

I used my phone camera to survey the area and found the grounding stud between the fuel filter and the CDI box on my March, 1969 911S.

    Ed:

The engine was dropped last year to complete a full-body restoration. That’s probably when they were disconnected.

Since then, the car has only been driven about 50 miles and runs very well (in spite of the disconnected ground wires!).

I haven’t yet checked whether brake lights, rear window defroster, etc. are all working. Those ground wires must be connected to something!

Okay...that makes sense since I haven’t used the rear defrost or cold start solenoid, nor have I checked the license plate lights...but wouldn’t having the relay board ground disconnected cause some sort of a problem? Unless, of course, there’s an alternate ground...like the mounting bolts, for example.

It could if your CD box was on the relay board, but it is on metal brackets.
