    Fuel and oil cap differences

    Hello,

Looking through my spare gas and fuel caps, found quite some differences between them.
Oil, double OIL marking vs single and rear with and without indent. Which MY can we put on them, which one would be correct for 1973? I have a feeling the one on the left..

    Hi Cees,
my row 1973 2.4T has the bottom variant for the gas cap, though text is no longer legible, and another variant of the oil cap. the back looks like the left one, but there's no "oil" on the front at all.

Thanks Patrick, any other 73 owners, preferably with Italy delivered cars?...those seem to have more odd features like different indicator/low high-beam SWF stalk (911.613.303.30 vs 301.30).

If your car is CIS, should it be vented, (Luftung) or unvented (ohne Luftung)?
Also: some caps have OEL stamped, are those o.e., or VW?

My Italian 73S, 10/72 build, has the upper gas cap. My oil cap is blank.

Just to confirm Cees, but you probably already knew, my car is an Italy delivered one as well; it still has the different front indicator lenses (more white), no emergency warning lights and a different horn.

Mine too is Italian delivered 2/1972. Same no hazards but not correct oil cap as mine has ooooo on it , Audi I assume.

Can in slightly diverge now I have two fellow Italian cars here , I’ve no details of my car from 1972 to 1983. Is there anyway I can find out it’s Italian delivery details like Registration Number. I’ve got the COA but that’s not much.
