Got around to removing the rear wheel studs
    Replaced the 100mm for 72mm.
Turns out it saved just over 0.5 lbs. Not bad as its unsprung weight and only the rears. Something to think about when ordering longer studs.

    0.5 saved 1846 lbs total

Hey DAVE YOU ARE RIGHT!! these are 3.5 spacing! What a PITA as my aluminum mounting brackets are set up for 3.5. I was wondering why the new Alu Brembo calipers wouldn't fit?
I thought it was a caliper depth issue or rotor issue, the obvious option would be bolt spacing. Just a brain cramp on my end. I'll need to get proper SWB mounting brackets ASAP.

Here over the pond you'd need >= 2 liters of catch can - will the washer bottle have sufficient capacity?

Great project! What are you going to use for the interior rear view mirror? If you use the standard mirror then you could possibly loose a few grams using the 914/6 smaller version.

Sure but that was back then. Todays FIA / DMSB regulations require 2 liter catchcan up to 2.000 ccm engine capacity engines and 3 liter for larger capacities- but that's a matter of the sanctioning body / regulations.

Thats a good point, car currently has a wink style mirror. This saves me from needing a passenger mirror or roll bar clamp mirror. So I could go smaller but then I would have to add another mirror.

    rear view mirror

This 914/6, some say RSR used them as well is only 220grams and enough sight. I have one in my road/track car.

    Regards,

    Cees
