What year? Metal backing or formed foam (72,73)? I have a nice 72/73 version.

Must be 69-73 version..Late 1973 Porsche already started to bring out the G model kneepad.

    ??

I was always under the impression that the knee pads were the same from 1969-73? I know the garnish rails went from vinyl covered foam with a metal backing to formed foam but I thought all knee pads were thermo vacuum vinyl covered formed foam starting in 1969?

My 1/70 has the metal framed knee pads but, I assumed it was due to the car having factory air to support the Behr blower unit.

That makes sense. I just looked at two low-mileage, one-owner (before me) 1969 cars and neither has metal backing on the knee pads. Neither did my 48k-mile, original paint 71E. None were factory AC cars.

You are all correct, all LWB 69-73 carry the same PET mumbers; 901.552.035.27 and 036.27. Guess only the 64-68 were vinyl covered metal backing kneepads with one year having the alu strip on the top. I go sit in the corner now and be ashamed.

    No corner required.

Cars with AC by factory came with the Metall framed knee pads 901.573.017.01 and 901573.018.01, even MY 72/73.
