Thread: 1972 Air box hoses and oil on top of engine.

1972 Air box hoses and oil on top of engine.

I have a 1972 MFI 911S engine in my 914-6. The air box has a vent hose off the oil tank to the air box but also has two other what appears to be outlets with no hoses attached. The one that concerns me the most is the one that drains oil down on the top of the engine over time. What am I missing or need? See attached image.

#1 has vent hose from oil tank feeding into it.

#2 is my biggest concern because if and when oil gets in to airbox from oil tank hose, the oil does flow down and out to deposit on the top of the engine. Is there supposed to be a hose here? Do I need a oil catch can installed to prevent oil into the air box?

#3 not sure if this is a vent side or gets a hose?

    Thanks,

In a '72 911, #2 has a hose connected to a drain at the front of the engine tin. Oil drips on the ground.

#3 connects to a hose to the evap canister in the front.

Thank you Arne for the reply. I purchased some hose and now the drain will hit the ground and not the top of the engine.
