SWB Passenger kick panel carpet trivia

I have been working on getting the carpet kit installed in my car from a well known interior outfit.

While wrestling with the passenger kick panels I asked a friend with an unrestored '65 for some pictures to help me along with the install. Turns out the original carpet on his car has a distinctly different pattern from what I got in the kit. I also have the original carpet from a friends '67 (perlon) here and the kit I bought appears to be very close in terms of pattern to what came in his car.

My hypothesis is that the passenger kick panel carpet was different for cars fitted with the Webasto heater due to the hose running in the passenger footwell. Are there any members out there who still have the original carpet in their car and would like to take some pictures?

    TIA,

    JK

Anybody out there with original carpet? I have heard offline from others having the same challenge with the passenger kick panel
