Engine Re-stamping

There is a person on eBay offering Porsche engine re-stamping for $1,100. Isn't this illegal, or at least unethical?

Certainly unethical and if it isn't illegal, it should be. It's fraud pure and simple if you're trying to restamp a case and pass it off as #'s matching when it isn't so you can sell for a higher price. Unfortunately it's nothing new.

The real problem here is that almost nothing is an enforced crime anymore. Ebay has been a legalized fencing website for stolen goods for 20 plus years. They don’t enforce any ethical standards on their web site nor do the feds. This “service” is clearly unethical and illegal but as long as EBay allows it they get their cut.

It doesn't help the community to repost these guys ads. Sure 95% of us will be astounded and turn our noses, but someone out there is now "thinking".
