    Cigarette lighter and charging

My cigarette lighter has two problems for the last 20 years.
    1. I have to hold it in to get it to temp. The stock cigarette lighter pops out but the heater elements are merely warm. If I hold it in, it comes to temp. I stopped smoking a long time ago but would like this to operate as new.
    2. When I plug in a phone charger, the radio shorts out temporarily. No other function shorts out the radio. The charger also never works so I store a battery charger for long drives. Again, would like this to work without issue.

Has anyone else had experience with solving these minor issues?

James- I believe the lighter socket's little arms are to expand causing the assembly to pop out. Is your light receptacle dirty? May be accumulated debris from us over the years.

Not sure what it means "the radio shorts out temporarily ..." It then comes back on?
