    From the Website:

Owning a 64' 911 is kind of an unreachable dream for many early eleven enthusiasts. But also a reality for a very few number which includes Jerry Seinfeld, Magnus Walker, Jean Todt and some other well known Porsche collectors. The first public presentation of a 901 took place in the Frankfurt Motorshow on Sept 12th, 1963. Production of the 911 began in September of 1964. The first 46 received the 901 designation and the other 186 produced in 1964 were labeled as 911s as a settlement of a Peugeot claim. All bear a specific VIN number *300XXX . But not only the VIN number makes this first production year specific to the 911. Many details also differ if compared to the 65 and 66 models, like window frames, engine bay frame etc..

300136 was delivered new in Switzerland by Amag, painted in Rubinred. An engine change was documented early in its life. The car was kept within the same hands in France since 1982. Its "secret" body number is well matching as is its gearbox (Nr 901 100154) We have been very lucky to digg out a specific 64' engine (manufactured in April 1964), which by an extraordinary coïncidence is numbered *900136 and which is of course undergoring a bolts and nuts restoration.

We will not save any effort to bring back this piece of history to its former glory . A fully documented restoration file as well as an independant appraisal will be supplied with the car. There are most probably no more than 50 cars of this very first production batch still "living". A very rare opportunity for a serious Porsche collector to enter the very exclusive community of the 232.

At the Paris Motor Show in October 1964, Porsche resolved this conflict quickly by replacing this 0 with a 1, and so began the story of the Porsche 911. Only 232 copies of the Porsche 911 were produced in 1964, before production ceased on December 23, 1964. The 1991 cc six-cylinder developed 128 horsepower and the car was fitted with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Many interesting specificities distinguish the 1964 models from those that will come later: the window frames, the sheet metal of the engine compartment, the smooth rear crossmember, ...

The first 82 production units left the factories on September 14, 1964 (chassis 300 007) with the 901 badges, then on November 10, 1964, the 911 name was definitively adopted. Apart from the badges, these first cars are strictly identical. The chassis numbers of these cars are specific, and range from 300 001 to 300 232. We are happy to offer chassis 300 136 for sale.

Produced on December 3, 1964 and delivered on January 22, 1965 in Lausanne, Switzerland, this important car in the history of Porsche was ordered in the Ruby Red color (available in 1964 and 1965) with the black leather interior. The Kardex certificate of origin provided by Porsche comes with the car. This Porsche has been fully restored down to the smallest corners, of course respecting its original specifications mechanically and aesthetically, and with remarkable precision. Countless restorations are available, going down to the smallest detail, and showing the car and its parts at every stage of the project.

The gearbox n°100 154 type 901/0 is consistent with the sheet metal number, also present and compliant. The engine, originally n°900 247, was replaced by engine block n°900 136, dismantled then refurbished during the restoration, coincidentally coinciding with the chassis number of the car which is 300 136. The engine is powered by 6 PI carburettors, and the car is fitted with a Dansk muffler. Blockley tires, discs, pads are new. All trains were also dismantled and restored. The underbody of the car is in clinical condition as evidenced by the photos taken in our garage.

Few copies of the first 911 are still in this world, the registers available online count on a hundred. In sublime condition, fresh from a major and high-quality restoration, this example is perfect from all points of view. The car, registered in France, has covered only 30 kilometers since the end of the restoration and drives wonderfully. This is the opportunity to acquire a major historical piece in the history of Porsche, which represents the premises of the 911, and whose history continues successfully today.
