    MFI best place to buy

Hi folks, am looking to convert my 71T Outlaw back to MFI, currently has CIS. I will need an entire system and I know they are pricey but other than eBay where else can I look? any suggestions? thanks Robb Gwaltney

I think the 71T was carbureted, Zeniths maybe not sure never had a 71T.

I agree with Steve. I didn't think the T had MFI until late 72.

Post engine and type number, I suspect engine replacement with later model.

Does your left side camshaft have MFI drive on the end? If not, installing an MFI cam will require teardown and camshaft replacement.

Agreed. '71T had Zeniths (which you can find "cheaply" and a rebuild isn't terrible) but readily take Webers (which I ran with the Zeniths on the shelf).

Also agree that if it has CIS, you'll want to check engine numbers.

Via Red Book, '71 T engines ran from 6110001 to 6119728. 612XXXX and above in US are '72-'73 with MFI, and the 73.5 started with 613XXXX for the CIS.

A '72 T might be from September to December 1971. Mine was built in November 1971.

Post engine numbers. Almost impossible to install CIS on carb engine.

To answer the original question and subject of this thread, I’d start by calling MFI solutions, a division of TRE motorsports in van Nuys. They have a great selection of mfi bits, new, rebuilt very high quality parts.
