Early 911 rear bumper exhaust cutout question

Does anyone know if the '65 911 was ever offered with a dual exhaust? My car, originally sold in Italy and brought to the US some years later has exhaust cutouts in both rear bumpers. They appear to be original to the car, and both cutouts look factory or else someone did a really good job creating one. The current muffler exhaust is on the left side. There is no mention of any modified exhaust in the Kardex or COA.

I have never seen two cutouts in any period photo. Italy has craftsmen who can make whole cars,,,an exhaust cutout is childs play.

My Dad had a ‘69 E and he had the single outlet cutout closed off as a small custom touch back in the day. He had a Monza exhaust and I still remember the swirls of water vapor as he drove off to work while I waited at the bus stop for school. Good memories.

After a little poking around online, I found that a 911 muffler with twin tailpipes is available even today, so my guess is a prior owner added that for a little customization of his own, maybe to make it look a little like a 911 R.

Yes, my '65 also had duel cut outs in the bumpers. And also looks original. The original muffler had two tips cut of at an angles. Sadly it rusted away years ago.
