Thoughts on Bilstein: spraying to Black ?

    Hi all,

I just like to read your thought about replacing a 40 (or more) years old Boge dampers with a new set of Bilsteins.

The car is not restored and it has just periodic maintenence without fancy "upgrades".

I'm concerned of replacing dampers with a new set of different color (surely they are far superior than Boges)...
Boges are Black while Bilsteins are Green or Yellow.

The mechanic has suggested to spray only rear dampers in black to estetically hide them
The Front dampers shouldn't need to be paint because they are alrealdy hidden in their original strut

Can you please tell if painting black a Bilteins id a good and durable solution or is better to leave them in the original color?

Why on earth would you want to hide the fact that you upgraded to Bilstein's. They are to be proud of not hidden. Green is beautiful.

Longballa, thankyou for your feedback.... that's the comments i'm asking for.
I can't decide if the aesthetic change is acceptable on a totally stock car... i have no doubt about the bilstein quality but considering that the car was delivered with black dampers on the rear i was asking me... and so to you... if it's better to hide 'em of is someone here had the same paranoias :-)

    thank you again
