    Targa glass removal questions

Paint preparation for a 68 912. Does the stainless targa bar have to be removed prior to rear glass removal. Second, how to safely remove the chrome base trim that sits on the body. The PET does not show any fasteners for that chrome trim. Rob

No it doesn't. Be extremely careful, though. The 68 Targa back glass is made of Laminated glass, not tempered glass and is extremely fragile. Treat it as you would a windshield. Cut the rubber and treat it with kid gloves. Break it and you won't find a replacement. Once the glass and the rubber is removed, the trim will be a no brainer.
Pro tip: Look under the fender well.
    Good luck.

    Regards

    Jim
