    Fascinating.

That's one cool looking building. Reminds me of the Wright Brothers' Bicycle Shop:

'. . . This 1958 Porsche 356A 1600 coupe was first sold by Clarence Talley Auto Co. of Dallas, Texas. It was acquired by its late owner, Ersten “Bud” Dunklau, owner of Road & Track Motors of Lincoln, Nebraska, in 1974. It subsequently underwent a 12-year refurbishment that was completed in the late 1980s. The car is finished in red over tan, and power comes from a replacement 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a numbers-matching four-speed manual transaxle. Modifications include Recaro seats, 356C-sourced four-wheel disc brakes, an anti-roll bar, an 80-liter fuel tank, a dual-circuit brake master cylinder, a third brake light, and a 12-volt electrical system conversion. This 356A is now offered by the seller on behalf of the late owner’s widow with the removed numbers-matching 1.6L flat-four, factory seats, drum brakes, fuel tank, and steering wheel as well as factory books, tools, a copy of the Kardex, refurbishment photos, articles about the car, and a Nebraska title . . .

. . . Delivered from the factory in Ruby Red (5702), the Reutter-built body was taken to bare metal and replacement longitudinals were installed before it was repainted in its current red using PPG Duracryl Acrylic Lacquer during the 1980s refurbishment. Two quarts of paint are included in the sale . . .

. . . Features include body-color bumpers with chrome overriders, teardrop taillights, a single engine-cover grille, a third brake light fitted under the grille, a driver-side mirror, Bosch H1 headlights, and a Karosseriewerk Reutter tag on the right-front fender. Areas of paint crazing can be seen up close in the gallery, and there is a dent in the driver’s door. A Thrush Exhaust sticker is affixed to the roof near the left A-pillar, and there is a chip in the windshield . . .

. . . The ivory-painted 15″ steel wheels wear chrome half-moon caps and trim rings, and they are mounted with 185/70 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. A matching spare wheel and hubcap are fitted in the front trunk. A rear camber compensating spring and front anti-roll bar were installed during the refurbishment. The braking system features a dual-circuit master cylinder and 356C-sourced discs at all four corners . . .

. . . The cabin features Recaro seats trimmed in tan vinyl with velour inserts, along with a matching dash pad, door panels, and carpets. The car was converted to a 12-volt electrical system during the refurbishment, and a Craig AM/FM/cassette player is fitted in the steel dash . . .

. . . The wood-rimmed Racemark steering wheel frames green-letter VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 4,500-rpm redline as well as a 120-mph speedometer. Just under 3,200 miles are shown on the five-digit odometer. Total mileage is unknown . . .

    . . . The replacement 1.6-liter flat-four was reportedly sourced from a Porsche 912. An oil change was performed in 2021 . . .

. . . Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transaxle. Case stamping 18941 matches the Kardex below and can be seen up close in the gallery. A 356 GT-spec 80-liter fuel tank was installed during the refurbishment, and the removed unit is included in the sale . . .

. . . The Kardex lists the powertrain numbers and initial delivery to Hoffman Motors in New York. Factory books stamped by Clarence Talley Auto Co. can be seen in the gallery . . .

. . . The removed 1.6-liter flat-four is included in the sale. Engine stamping *69107* matches the Kardex and can be seen in the gallery along with photos of the included seats, brake components, fuel tank, steering wheel, and tools
