    What year seat recliners are these ?

    What year are these ...the black plastic part does not operate

    From memory, I think 69-70, '71 was chrome with the black rectangular slide then went to chrome with the top lever in '72 and finally black with the lever on top for '73.

    Or, I could be completely hosed.

    At the very least they are found on 1969 and as stated above prehaps 1970.

    The black plastic part does not operate because you have two inside units (that face the center tunnel), the outside counterparts (that face the doors) for each have the moveable release mechanism with cable.

    one variety of 71 seat

    I don't know all the varieties for 1971 seats.
    but mine are like this.
    my car was made 10/1970. a friend's car, built 40 cars later, has the same seats. (but black)

    these seats have two large screws per side, in the chrome hinge.... and the 'whale tail' lever, on top.
    they also have long seat belt receivers.

    Just confirming. Those are 69/70. They are the inside right and inside left hinges.
