What exactly is a "Porsche Classic Technical Certificate"? I have never heard of such a document...
Anyway, I think it is kinda misleading stating
Transaxle stamping 7115851 is shown below and in the gallery, and also matches the Classic Technical Certificate
As much as I understand that "certificate" it states that the gb number is NOT matching, is it?
Would have to be more like 710XXXX though the serial on my '70 911/01 gb is in a totally different location...

There is rarely a great need to do inside like that unless there is damage done, or a complete strip to bare metal has been done.
I think you should introduce yourself and your cars.

Note the CTC also shows a build date of 12/69, whereas I believe 00151 would have been August or September 69? The "Plegepass" in the BaT photos shows the delivery and first service to be 10/69 dates.

Hi everyone- I’m new here and am the buyer of this car on BaT. The car is still in transit so haven’t had a chance to get my hands on it yet but giddy to do so soon. Hopefully, it will be as good as advertised. This is my first early 911 and air cooled Porsche and this forum has been tremendous in helping me come up the learning curve. Thanks all!

Congrats on your purchase. You picked a great first 911 year. Best of luck and enjoy!

Congrats as well! I have seen your new car in person, and it is very clean and was honestly represented. You'll be really happy with it and got an incredible deal on it.

Congrats and welcome to the forum. You got yourself a wonderful car by the looks of it. Keep us updated. I have the same car, year and colour but a few months younger and US spec.

    Welcome, Road . . .

Well, I hope you enjoy your car --- and that you continue to post about your adventures with it, here

I'm a 2.2 Guy and, for a lot of reasons, think these are the sweet spot for early 911s, so I think you made a good choice. Car looks to be in nice shape, too. I wouldn't worry too much about some few bumps + bruises . . . mine was in worse shape when I found it, so I just chipped away at it

I think you'll find that pretty-much anything on these cars can be fixed --- just be sure to drive it . . .

. . . and maybe post your 1st impressions, here?

And Pics help . . . 1k-words-worth and all that

Thanks - look forward to sharing pics of future adventures! I did a bunch of homework on the strut towers issue and while jarring cosmetically, I don't believe it affects the car mechanically. It's certainly not damage from a collision and appears to have been there prior to the full body repaint she got after her long time owner in Idaho sold. I spoke to the long-time mechanic in VT who is very reputable and took care of the car for a number of years - he wasn't even aware of the issue as the car didn't have a history of alignment problems or other reasons to open the frunk. So I'm not worried about it but will know for sure after I own her for a while. In any case, I plan on giving her all the TLC she needs and as you say, everything is fixable. Hopefully she'll treat me well too.

70SATMan- thanks a bunch. I discovered early911sregistry because of you so much obliged! I'm in the Bay Area so at some point it may be fun to have the sisters meet. Cheers
