    Batteries for a 71 911T

I started a thread on the Interstate U911's which are discontinued. In one of the threads a member stated that the Interstate
MTP67R/MTP-T4 fits. Can anyone confirm this 100% without any modifications.

    Thanks inadvance David

I put two Interstate MTP-T4 batteries in my 1970 a couple months ago. There is a flange around the bottom that needed trimming to fit in my battery boxes (which might be deformed due to accident damage), the original tiedowns hold them in place nicely. and there is room for the rubber cover over the positive terminal.

Good to know there are options. At least here in Canada, the Sonnenschein is slightly cheaper than the Interstate. It does look like the side flanges on the bottom need trimming on the Interstate. They aren't present on the Sonnenschein, but the front and top of the cases look identical.

Yes, pleasantly surprised that they were cheaper in Canada. But so are new Porsches when you convert into USD.

Just bought two Bosch batteries for $90 each from the local Bosch service center. They were in stock too.

Yes, these Bosch batteries fit perfectly without any issue. Also fixed a weird starting hesitation I had.

Unfortunately, that Bosch battery does not appear to be available in the US.
