Thread: Will the real Jade Green (227) please stand up.

My 75 is Jade Green, and I can confirm that when I had paint made based on the formula it came out really dark, not even close. One was from my local paint shop, the other was paintscratch.com. Both were similarly off, so I'm just going to guess the formula does not work with modern paints.

At some point I'll take my car to them and have it scanned and see how close a match can be made.

BTW, the pics of Bert's car and mine are the two that look the closest of what Jade Green looks like in person. The RS's and the IROC pics don't really look right to me.

Thanks, everyone. You can see why we're a little unsure about this. I initially hesistated to include a photo of one of our paint samples below because it looks much more blue on the computer than the sample does in your hand. The sample looks most like the Dupont color chip in Scott's post above. Not all is lost, however. One of the registry members directed me to Nathan Merz who has an original paint car. Nathan has kindly agreed to take the sample we are sending him and compare it to his car. Now we just have to decide what to do once we verify that the current paint codes aren't correct...

I had similar confusion when painting my Alfa "Bluette". Very sun-sensative color. Glassurit got it right. I trust their color lookup very much, but mind you put the year in when searching.
