    FS: 911S Targa 1970

    Porsche “S” Targa 1970. VIN # 9110310641. Silver, black interior, black carpet. Equipped with a 1978 911 3.0 SC engine # and 1978 915 transaxle and 915 shifter with related components. This 911 has 63,595 miles on the chassis and 14 miles on the complete and professionally rebuilt engine. The engine rebuild consisted of “E” cams, Carrera tensioners, Mahle Euro MFI pistons and nickasil barrels. Compression ratios estimate 9.3:1.0, STD/STD crankshaft, OE Porsche bearings, 40mm Weber carburetors and the best available components with no expenses spared.

    Eleven years ago, the body was completely disassembled, stripped including the underbody and suspension components, cleaned, primed and painted semi flat black. The epoxy base primer was block sanded numerous times and the panels are very flat. Paint is dried back and could use a final polishing. All seals and body components removed and underpainted before reassembly with all new seals. The original chrome and aluminum parts were cleaned and reused including the door glass and frames. Their condition is a testament to the original low mileage. The suspension feels a little stiffer than normal and was probably setup for DE and rally events.

    After eleven years in storage, this Targa was brought to Chris Pohlod’s shop, Simple Auto Solutions, next door to me at Carquip in Boulder, Colorado. After years in storage, Chris preformed the following repairs: Replaced gas tank, fuel pump, fuel lines and clamps, rebuilt Weber carburetors, Turbo lower valve covers, new alternator, master cylinder and brake lines, plugs, oil and filter. The repairs are more extensive as the owner said do whatever is necessary.
