'. . . The ground up bare metal restoration was started in 2013 and nearly three years was spent on a cost no object restoration. No bolt was untouched. The ultimate goal was to create a concours d’elegance worthy specimen that would considered the best in the US. This was not just built as a show car but built to meet or exceed factory standards allowing the new owner the option of using the car as factory new car with all wear items in new condition giving the owner confidence of a very reliable car.
In 1972, a total of 12,962 Porsche 911s were built. On those only 2,739 were higher horsepower “S” models and only 1,750 of those were the more desirable coupes. Fewer yet were Sunroof Coupes.
As a result of all this work, the car is an excellent driving example. The engine sounds great and performs well, and the car is tight and responsive. The gearbox works well and the brakes are very effective. The car is quite civilized and comfortable, but also very sporting, and it is abundantly clear that the car has been properly and professionally restored.
Please note in the photos, that areas out of sight and out of mind and normally ignored in lesser “restorations” have been refurbished to the same level as visible parts of the car. Cabling and heater parts behind the engine for example have all been replaced despite the fact that they will probably never be seen. The same goes for items behind blowers, suspension parts and skid plates. No nut or bolt has gone untouched. (See "Details" heading for photos of these areas)
