911 Solex air cleaner $4000 shipped in con US

    Sold gone

New Solex 3 piece air cleaner. This is a reproduction, very high quality. Better price than an original used one.... . New never used, needs paint and snorkel decal, that is all.

Having minimal Solex knowledge, why is the slope front/back on the original set and front/front on the aftermarket? What is the slope for?

Initially the Solex air cleaners didn’t have a slope. That was introduced after a little while.

Why? I don’t know. The left part when mounted is closer to the fire wall, the right side closer to the rear lid.

The first Solex filters, the lower ones, suffered from a lack off aircirculation inside . In order to cure that problem the filter became a bit higher. That made it necessary to introduce the slopes because it fitted better and it was easyer to take the filters off.
