Is it so difficult to get the French SREG fellows out ?

    all is in the title...

I am willing to organise a huge event for the ESR members in France and around. I have even few sponsors ready.
However, it seems so difficult to mobilize the folks here. I have been in the P world for years, and having water cooled is rather easy, even very expensive ones), but air cooled is tough and don't mention F series...
Once I was successful (in 2015) to get nearly 30 air cooled at once.

There is the Classic Days in Magny Cours / Le Mans - but this is a wide range of years and all brands, Le Mans Classic very prestigious but exclusive..no classic Porsche air cooled meeting (and I want one, hardly)
I did contact Patrick Long a while ago, but was not interested.

How come that is not working in FR ?

    Just a little story.
Two weekends ago there were a couple of short notice "underground" events - mostly Porsche content in Munich Stuttgart Düsseldorf Berlin Hamburg there only was advertisement on Instagram (or perhaps also facebook - I don't have) and there were all places together hundreds of cars. So in general it works somehow. But it was only (except for munich) a meet no driving included. Mostly very young crowd. You can find pics here https://www.instagram.com/sight.magazine

I'd call it an intelligent marketing campaign - lots of car addicted professional photographers and lots of regramming in the aftermath.
@heizrclub announced that they will have their next drives announced 24 hrs before the drive because otherwise they will be overrun.
It's a different generation, short term, no obligation, little prep and it works somehow. If something will go wrong (accident) at such an event (no insurance, no official authorization) I am not sure if the organizers will get out of that liability question easily.

Well, there certainly is a very major car event coming up soon in your neck of the woods. February 12-15 is the French Historic Grand Prix at Le Castellet/Paul Ricard, at which I will be racing my Formula Junior. That is the warm-up for the Formula 1 that also will take place at Paul Ricard a few days later. It is probably too late to explore, but the organizers have been asking for some of the FHGP historic cars to remain on display through the F1 weekend, with the enticement of providing VIP packages for the F1.

I think the mess following the Covid has exacerbated the already difficult logistics for such kind of events ... even myself i am quite lost with my schedule ...
