    Thoughts on Bmw 2002tii

I think they are a great shape and have always liked them.

But cars take up space and time. If I had one, after the novelty wore off, i’m wondering if I would want to drive it if instead I could drive a 67S?

Maybe better to park places and not worry about it?

But sheer fun of backroad driving?

    Any thoughts?

I've never driven a tii, just normal 2002's. The normal models are nice driving cars, but not as fun in my opinion as an average 911, let alone a '67S. Maybe the tii is closer.

But I owned a 323i (E21) for about 5 years. If I couldn't have my 911, I'd be on the hunt to find a similar 323i, as it was a really fun ride, a joy to drive and play with. Mine had limited slip, Recaros, Bilstein/Alpina dampers and springs, and staggered 15" BBS. Set up like that, it'd be a tough decision on what to drive. For me, anyway.

So if a tii is anything like my 323i was to drive, it might be worth a try.

my dad had several 2002 including a tii. Inca Orange from memory. Great little cars and for their age they had enough pep to have fun with.
Years later I went down the "save the planet" option with this,

and in all honesty a formidable vehicle.

I think that the pre 74 Porsche are such an a appreciated car by their owners is that they provide that wonderful balance of fun, pleasing on the eye and an iconic appeal to almost all age brackets.

Back to the BMW 2002, if I was ever to be tempted it would have to be one of these.

Lets' put it like that: I can have a really good performing car for the price of a 911 engine only.
But I am not so convinced I'd want a tii - to me the earlier carbureted ti which is much rarer is far more desirable, or if you'd want something for cruising the (full not targa) convertibles are fabulous and really good for traveling.
An original Car will be ok performance & handling wise - to perform on a 911s level it needs a tad more.
You'd need a hotrod which can be built period correct or if you have some contacts into the scene even a hotrod back from the 60's or 70's might be found.
