You need volume II for the Body section. B 47 will tell you that starting with the 68 model year the windshield must be removed prior to removing the dash. You can also go to B 19 for 3 pages on how to properly install the windshield. I would find a new shop with experience in these cars.
    FOUND, sorry i was looking for the later workshop manual, now it is more clear, thank you. Just for my complete understanding, what is the use of the step1 "insert windshield template in windshield seat and check alignement, correct where necessay" . Is this to check if the car had a bent or damages
    around the windshield frame or exactly what should be "aligned where necessary" ? thank you once more for your "senior" knowledge. I am trying to understand.

    The template frame is only used to check after damage or repairs. You'll be fine without it.
