    Horizontal Fuel pump

Hello all, I have a ‘71T, carbs, with the fuel pump mounted horizontally behind the steering rack. Based on recommendations several years ago, I bought a replacement Mallory, Series 70, but the instructions say that it should be mounted vertically to avoid the risk of fire. What replacement pump do you recommend that can the mounted horizontally in the original position?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

    Regards,

There are rotary fuel pumps by Pierburg and Carter that work well with carbs and can be mounted in the horizontal orientation.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll check them out. Do you happen to know of specific models?

Pelican sells the Pierburg, just enter your model and year on their site. CB Performance and some of the race car websites like Summit Racing and others will carry the Carter and/or the Pierberg. They list the fuel pressures on each pump model to match various carb or fuel injection set ups.
