Can you date this picture at Porsche werks?

Hi, I've recently got this original period (late 60s ?) picture of Porsche werks which I have digitalised and I hope you will find it interesting ... can you help me in precisely dating it?

    Have a nice day.

the red car at the back is a '68
the two front cars are '69 or later
it doesn't look like the production lines
the machinery on the RHS is not what I would expect to see in the Werk 1 customer repair/service area
doesn't look like the race department either except for the cam covers at the bottom right
    1969 - 1970 but where ??

    cheers
    Dennis
1970 914-6 - materialised from the 'Lotto' garage into reality
    1971 2.2 911 S - now back in the UK - sob!
1975 Carrera Targa (ROW) - missed.
One of us is fast becoming a valuable antique.

Thanks Dennis for your answer ... I can see Mahle Cromal-Zylinder on the boxes where I'd expect NIKASIL ... ringing any bell?

First 2 cars are '68 with 1 year only side reflectors. It is a Werks photo overalls have the "Porsche" logo on them.

Cool pic. The reflector on the rearmost red car looks odd...not quite the right shape for '68, but the fender looks SWB. The reflector on the yellow car looks like a correct '68 bit, but the fender has the later flare. Looks like a LWB door panel, too. Quite the puzzle!

Here is an opinion I have received from a French passionate:

First of all, we can see that there is a mix of 68 and 69 models in this workshop, the red one at the bottom being a 68 and the others a 69.
Then, the yellow, model 69, still sports the side reflectors of the US models of 68, supposed to have been deleted in 69 because integrated directly into the flashing blocks (hence the change of the front flashing blocks and horn grilles between the SWB and LWB).
I deduce that this is certainly a photo of the design workshop for the new models and that we have in front of us the very first LWB still in the design phase (first half of 1968?)

In the meantime I have been contacted by Mahle (!) communication department:

Mahle: That‘s a great pic. Can we use it for our channel?

NSL: yes, sure! If you know more about the timing of the delivery of these kind of pistons and cylinders to Porsche would help in precisely dating it and maybe also knowing the exact location of this Porsche workshop ... apparently, it is not Werk 1 at Weissach ... thanks a lot.

    Mahle: We‘re looking into this.

The Cromal-Zylinder boxes are for 908, as they contain 4 cylinder units per box. The cam covers are 908 as well.
The first motors to use Nikasil cylinders were the 5,0 912 for the 917.

the yellow 69 fendered car even looks like it still has the swb corner lights.

and the thing on the top left appears to be fiber glass race car body + removable cover...am i seeing a roll-over bar?

also almost certain the cam covers are 8 cylinder parts, but they look a bit different from the ones i saw recently
