Thread: Can you date this picture at Porsche werks?

    I would say yes, your calculation goes in the right direction,
    but we never know…
    the print might be made later, 03 or 09 stamp date…
    nevertheless… - a really awesome piece of 68 factory history

    I think that the license plate numbers can be used to help date the pictures to 1969. The 1969 Monte Carlo factory cars had S-L plates and the first 917s had S-M plates. The date on the back of the print, if earlier, could be the production date for the paper rather than the date of the printing.

    This picture seems to confirm the assumption for the 908 chassis 908/02-014 that have been built for Le Mans from wrecked chassis 908-028 after Spa in 1969.

    Yes and here is another photo of it sitting in a yard at the factory with a 908-02? two 911R's and a 1968 911L werks rally car amongst others - good evidence that it was a company owned car

    That could also be an explanation ... I will dig more on that.
