FS: 911R Shoulder Belt Mount, Parcel Shelf Set (901.501.709.20, 901.501.710.20)

These reinforcement plates were originally used in the 1967 911R and Group 3 and 4 911 race cars. They were subsequently carried through into regular production cars in 1968. They continued to be used in competition 911's through 1972.

    • 1972 911S Competition Spare Parts List, Fig. 0/0, #02 901.501.709.20 Left reinforcement for seat belt [Verstärkung am Rückwand-Oberteil für Sicherheitsgurt links] Qty: 1
    • 1972 911S Competition Spare Parts List, Fig. 0/0, #03 901.501.710.20 Right reinforcement for seat belt [Verstärkung am Rückwand-Oberteil für Sicherheitsgurt rechts] Qty: 1

These billet receivers are CNC machined to be dimensionally identical to the original parts but are made from upgraded material. They have been TIG welded into the mounting plates and then black oxide coated for rust prevention on unreachable post-welding internal surfaces. Installation requires engine removal. Scuff the mount's edges to remove the black oxide, weld, prime and paint body color.

    Receiver Material: Chromoly steel, 4140
    Heat Treat: HRC 37-40
    Finish: Ra 12µm
    Coating: Black oxide
    Weight: 140.1 grams

Plate Material: Mild steel, 1020, 2mm
    Finish: Mill finish
    Coating: Black oxide
    Weight: 276.6 grams (+ 140.1 = 416.7 grams or 0.92 lbs per side)

The price is $179.38 per set of two (left + right side). Shipping within the US is by USPS Priority Mail, "2-Day" ($8.45).
International shipping is available but insurance is required, which will result in an exorbitant total price.

Hi Jimmy, do you have the shoulder belt mounts in stock? I need a couple of sets sent out to the UK If possible

    Hello Mick,
Yes. The shoulder belt mounts are in stock. Shipping for 2 sets to UK by USPS Package International Service is $27.15. If you aren't in a rush, it would be cheaper to ask someone to carry them back from the LA Lit Show, Saturday, February 26.

    Very cool.

Looks like my 1968L came with these. Might need to purchase the hardware once I find the set of belts.

How do you anchor the lap belts. When I pull the shoulder belts light, they ride way up. Is there some kind of tunnel or floor anchor out there.

The 911 lap belt mount locations were suboptimal for many years. They result in lap belts that ride too high. The factory eventually moved the inboard tunnel/heel panel mounts to the rearward seat rail location with a marked improvement in geometry. Racers often welded nut plates into the sides of the center tunnel and rear inner door sill areas closer to the seat pivot. I think that the most workable solution is to make the lap belts as tight as possible and let the shoulder belts only be snug.
