    What is the proper finish for the front beam adjusting levers?

    Are these adjusters supposed to be black painted or plated?

    BTW for the guys knowing a lot, what company with a W made these? (I don’t know the answer).

    Casting = phosphate
    Sheetmetal bracket = black paint

    Since it doesn’t have the short tubes for the protection cover its a little newer (late 65 and up) but the finish looks so smooth and has a certain thickness?

    Richard, those factory pictures were often airbrushed. I can only comment for Nov/Dec '65 and those were silver zinc with no signs of any coating.

    Post number 8, typical retouched (air brushed) photo with brushed in highlights for printing.

    Note the lack of texture on the support rod. I think they removed the short cross tubes from a early 1965 photo.

    The three variation to this under steering pan from 1964 thru 1967. The side bolted bolt fits into the short cross tube.
