Saturday small group drive and a visit to watch the High Plains PCA Club race.

I went to High Plains Racetrack yesterday to watch the PCA Club event. Other than my 67 there wasn't another car there older than an SC and they were few and far between. Just about all water pumpers. Car 224 is a GT2 RS. I've done tours, Vail to Steamboat, Tellurides Cars and Colors high mountain pass tour, Denver to Steamboat, etc. I'm always the only Long Hood and sometimes the only air cooled. Mostly Porsche water pumpers, Ferraris, and Lambos. It appears at least here in Colorado if there are Long Hoods around they are Garage Queens. Late Summer and Fall is prime driving season for cars without AC and no rust proofing. Mid October weather permitting I spend 4 or 5 days driving every mountain pass I can get to on the Western side of the state. Kids are in school, fall colors are mostly gone and in the middle of the week I have the passes almost to myself. Here in Colorado if I want to do anything with Loog Hoods I have to do it with the guy in the mirror. When I see small groups in Cali or other areas in the country I sigh. I pounded for two and a half hours in the mountains above Boulder with these 3 guys this weekend. Nice guys and all half my age. Any active Long Hood guys here in Colorado PM me please. These cars deserve to go outside and play. Sitting under a car cover in a garage in the dark all the time makes them sad,
