Anyone know how to decode the age of my spare tire?
(No, I don't plan to drive on it)

1973 Silver Metallic 911S
Could be first week of 1973 as well, which seems likely given that the wheel looks to have never hit the ground or bolted on the car.
The date code is the last 3 digits of the full DOT number for tires made through the end of 1999, and the last 4 digits for tires made from 2000-on.
The format is week-week-year for 3 digit codes, and week-week-year-year for 4 digits.
In this example the numbers are '013' for the first week of a year that ends in 3.

I have one just like that...
Many years ago, when I was stupidly still carrying my original spare, Harvey W. dated it as 1972...

Another clue to ponder is where was the tire made? In the old days, all XWX were made in France. Later on they moved production to different European plants. I can't recall when the first non-French XWXs started showing up, though.
