It's deja vu all over again. Same symptoms since yesterday morning.

Yeah, their backend database is in Read-Only mode again.

Yep. I made a reply to a thread and wondered why my reply did not show up as an increase in the post count but the reply was there. So yes, screwed up again.

Dave, be prepared to reply again later when it's fixed. I'm 99% certain that your reply disappeared as soon as you left the site.

It still seems to be there when I look. May be just me, so you can try and see if my replay is there (djpateman on Pelican)

I still see it as well, Dave. Which in no way guarantees it won't disappear once they get the database back in order.

I'm guessing that the keepers of the database don't maintain weekend hours. Same as last time, dead all weekend.

As a retired sysadmin, whose job was to make certain that these types of interactive, database-driven sites were not down, I can't fathom a business having a site like Pelican and not having someone on call at least over the weekend, if not 24x7. I have no clue how often my pager (early years) or cell phone would alert me in the middle of the night over the 17 years I was in that position.

Of course, that was pre-COVID. These days no one seems to want a job that includes inconvenient things like an on-call rotation...
