    Carpet Threshold Trim Question

    Can someone tell me where exactly the carpet ends as it comes up to the top of the door sill where the carpet trim piece is attached?

    See picture - while not fully clear - does the carpet end at the outer part of the blue flat section ? Some of my carpet is a bit longer than that by a 1/2 inch or so - I assume I have to trim it back to just lay flat on the top part

    When I redid my 73 I had the luxury of the original carpet to use as templates for trimming the new stuff. I recall trimming so that the upper edge was butted against the flange and laying flat on the sill. The most difficult part of that piece is getting the carpet to lie without wrinkles in the compound curved area behind and up to the outboard rear seat hinge. Take your time it can be done DIY.

    I recall trimming so that the upper edge was butted against the flange and laying flat on the sill.....that is how I did it, as the original carpets (on all three cars I did) were done that way.

    Thanks guys - so to help my remaining uncertainty/clarity - you would bring the edge of the carpet to the Red - buttress at the flange as it meets the sill.

    The other two options were;
    Bring the carpet to the Red and then up the top of the ridge/flange to the Yellow.
    Bring the carpet all the way to the Green on top of the ridge/ flange
