    Wheel studs length

One of my cars is in the workshop to get a new wheel/tire setup with 7mm spacers.
I m abroad and they told me the usable lenght of the studs is 31mm.
So are these the standard total 45mm ones or the 52mm ones that I need for the 7mm spacers?

Can you be more specific about your car and what is the length of the wheel stud on there right now?

It s a 8/71 MY72 with SC brakes, RS flares and a mod 3,0 Carrera engine.

The usable(visable thread) studs lenght is 30mm.

I know this is difficult from a distance away from your car & wheels, (same here) What wheels are you mounting.
A std engineering rule of thumb for fasteners is 2 - 2.5 x thread diameter for engagement minimum. if you have you have the shop measure the wheel thickness at the straight diameter to lug nut flair, add your spacer and and take that total from the stud lengths you are looking at (also look at depth in lug nuts if using closed in nuts) there is a big difference in wheel thickness from alloy's to steel wheels and not knowing what you are running can play a big difference, I also forget the thread dia on the studs and am traveling.

    Hope this helps

Trusting to memory ,,,I'm reasonably sure original stud length is 45mm. And thread is 14 X 1.50

The studs on my 69S are 30mm from hub to tip and it came with Fuchs wheels. So if it takes a 45mm stud to give you 30mm of protruded threads, seems to me you are going to need 52mm studs with a 7mm spacer.

Just measured the hubs on my '69S. They are 15mm thick, so my post #7 above is right on. It takes a 45mm stud to give you 30mm of protruded threads for the stock wheel.

Search on Stoddard.com under Wheel Stud for lengths of studs.
