    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

    . . . a gaggle o' Grifos

    Not exactly a knock-out style-wise IMO --- reminds me a lot of a Ghibli, only . . . heavier?

Anyway, rat-motor power-train takes a LOT o' the sting outta living with something like this. Snappy-enough interior, too . . . 'cept my kids, a dog + maybe coupla bags o' groceries would see all this off in a minute . . . = 'date car' only

    I'm guessing the flat hood = small-block (?)

As for that green one --- this is what they came up with? --- to clear the air-cleaner? . . . really? Looks like a stack of lunch trays? . . .

. . . or as the Girlies say --- eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwww!

    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

    . . . '38 Lancia

This is the Pinin Farina Group for this year's Concours. Heard the name 'Astura' someplace/before . . . but never seen anything like this. V6. Only very minimal trim/adornment --- just a lotta super-smooth bodywork . . . = pretty breath-taking, especially in black

Got there as the Judges were goin' through their hula-dance . . . juuuust in time to see this interior out in the open

    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

    . . . more Pinin Farina (. . . well --- that section of the show, anyway)

Just this one pic, sorry . . . prolly got interrupted by the Judges. I kinda run through car shows, anymore

Not sure of the make, here, but . . . I'm gonna guess it's Italian

Compare this to the 'sports cars' the Germans were building at this time

    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

    . . . '36 Lancia Astura Pinin Farina Cabriolet

    Don't think I've ever seen anything like this . . .

    . . . split folding windshields, woven leather seat backs, long-LONG bits of polished trim, mostly-disappearing to + semi-ratty tonneau . . . car 's a knock-out

    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

. . . another Lancia Astura Pininfarina Cab

Amazing gaps on all those closures --- something these lighter colors can really bring out. Disc wheels, no running boards, and flush rear-mounted spare really sleek things up, too. And check-out those 'ball' lights --- front + back . . . never seen anything like that

    More 2021 Pebble beach . . .

. . . Lancia Aprilia Pinin Farina Spider

1948. Reminds me of a XK120, but not the best proportions IMO

Compare this to a contemporary Gmünd coupe

    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

    . . . '53 Lancia Aurelia Pinin Farina Spider

Reminds me of a Henry J with maybe some Tucker Torpedo swished in

    More 2021 Pebble Beach . . .

    . . . Cisitalia . . . 1947

    !

Amazing car. Wide whites seen to dilute some of the impact of this shape, but look at any other cars from this period and then this form + proportions seem even more other-worldly

    More 2021 Pebble . . .

    . . . Pinin Farina's take on the Mercedes W113 . . . aka 'pagoda' SL

    Meh . . . think I prefer Bracq's and Barényi's take. Lot of lovely subtle little touches -- check-out the trim . . . but the headlights don't fit
