Burgundrot - Burgundy Red - color question..

I am trying to determine if this color (1970/1971 911, 914 and 914-6 is a metallic color. I can't seem to find a quality photograph of a Porsche in that color...if someone has one that nicely represents the actual color I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

Burgundy red was never a 914 color in the first place...and also not a metallic color..
There had been of course 914 cars in code 98 painted, as a matter of fact you could get any color PTS or Special order paint

There is a nice red tone in 69/70 - colorado metallic - L97D or 81 - which is, depending on the sun, quite dark

please do find the colors for 914 over here, with additional links in the texts...

Haul - thank you for sending those photos...just to confirm, is that a colorado metallic car? At least from your photos, that could indeed be the elusive color (and color code) I'm looking for. I am helping my painter friend with a 1971 914/6 that was just dropped at his shop to 'repaint it in its original color'....which the COA says was Irish Green. It was NEVER an Irish Green car...so another example of an inaccurate COA. I did a deep forensic dive into the car yesterday, and although it had been repainted orange in the past, it is without any doubt an original metallic burgundy sort of color....appears to look just like the one in your photographs. The owner has boxes of parts and I've asked him to try and locate the trim tag on the left door hinge pillar..hopefully that will support my intensive inspection of the car. Thank you.

Here is a dark red metallic (dunkelrot metallic) from 1970. Shown next to Colorado in the paint chip samples.
My records show Colorado Met from 1972.

I can get the data to write up a CoA on the car if you wanted that. The factory production record should have the correct paint code as should the badge on the body.
