    New Hooptie

Sold my CSL last year and our last 3.0CS just recently... but still needed a BMW in the garage. Went looking for an exceptional E3 but found this instead. Took delivery a week ago, finally got tags.
1985 Euro M635 with virtually every option, Cosmos Blue Metallic with Pacific Blue Highland Cloth, original paint and all records. A creampuff with muscles, the newest old car we've ever owned.

Vault-like build compared to E9s, terrific performance for a 35 year old car, and it has something in common with the early 911: the doors "ping!" when shut! Any other M6 owners here?

Stunning find of that model Russ. The '85 735i was the most solid feeling car I've ever owned. Maybe a bit on the heavy side. BMW had enough under dash room back then to install large capacity heaters that made winter driving enjoyable.

M6 had an interior that was second to none.

Thanks Steve, and it has AC!!

Chuck, that JPS 635 has participated at several reunions... I think it's the only Grp A car regularly seen. I always think of the ETCC series and the Schnitzer/Alpina car with the iconic "Original BMW Teile" graphics.
Yes, the interiors from that period are pretty special... this one's not as groovy as Pascha, but very nice. A buddy had an Alpina 745i (dogleg 5 spd, unbelievably fast for such a big car) complete with buffalo interior.
I first drove a 635 when they were new, and around '94 kept one for a weekend that was offered pretty cheap. At the time I was so used to the CSL and CS (which had AC) the 6er felt tubby, and passed on the car.
The several hundred pound difference is still felt, but the car is so solid in comparison, my younger self clearly missed the point of BMW's impressive successor to the E9. Not as airy feeling, either, but quite luxurious.

    And it has decent AC!!

Former m635 euro owner here…great cars, mine was silver with buffalo interior…and some engine mods, stage 2 dinan upgrades and then a more aggressive rebuild when the cooling system blew out during the previous owner’s stewardship. VaC motorsports in philly built that motor out to 400bhp at the crank…that car really was lively. Great fun…..I had tons of fun with that car, including running Targa Baja with my wife and son back in 2016.

Enjoy your beautiful car, they are great machines

The M635 is what I consider the last 'classic' looking BMW tourer.

    Replaced by various attempts until
    this

    It's just a NO F around car.
