    This is from the factory manual. Clearly no nut. My 69 struts have no nuts, just threads in the strut. Si far my ball joint have nit fallen out.

    To be clear: the 1969 911S strut used a pinch bolt design where the 10 x 30 bolt threaded directly into the strut…no nut was employed. See the parts manual page below…part #18 is the bolt and #19 is a washer. You couldn’t fit a nut even if you wanted to since the standard 30mm long bolt did not protrude beyond the strut. This is why I just fitted a longer 35mm long bolt…this stuck out far enough from the strut to accept the extra nut.

    Starting in 1972 (I believe) the pinch bolt design was replaced with a wedge-pin design. The new wedge-pin (part #21) did have a bolt on its end (part #23).
