1968 US versions - Comply with all regulations door plaque/tag

    Greetings,

While browsing and chatting with a very nice fellow here on his 911L, I noticed a door tag (see pic) I do not have on my 911L USA version.
Am sure you may help finding out :
    1) is that tag on all 911L / 911 in 1968 ?
    2) it looks like riveted - is it correct ?

    Cheers
    Xavier

I thought that was a MY '69 only tag which was then replaced by the silver decal in the C Pillar door jamb. Also, I don't think that riveted is correct.

Basically a North American thing, and was followed in 1970 MY with the decal on the latch post with the data punched in.

All of those regulations went into effect on Jan 1, 1968.

    Thank you all, that clarifies.
I will then order an ad hoc plaque for my 911L 1968 which came out after Jan. 1968.

    All the best

If your car doesn't present with holes showing that a plate was originally riveted to the jamb I'd leave well enough alone.
